Dr. Bartl...all of us at AAH/AVES applaud your accomplishment and are proud to have you as a member of our team!
Alexandria Animal Hospital and Veterinary Emergency Service actively participates in clinical trial studies of new drugs and medications that our doctors feel will benefit the industry as a whole. We are proud of our involvement in these often very labor-intensive trials. And also proud of the clients that voluntarily participate along with their pets!
Jenna Hagar, BS, LVT, VTS(ECC) & Jennifer Nowlin, LVT, VTS(ECC)
Alexandria Animal Hospital’s patients are lucky enough to have had two of their Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) obtain specialty certification as Veterinary Technician Specialists in Emergency & Critical Care [VTS(ECC)] by the Academy of Veterinary Emergency Critical Care Technicians (AVECCT) while working here. Jenna received her certification in 2003 and Jennifer in 2005. AVECCT certification is an in-depth, 2 year long application and examination process designed to assure the public and the profession that veterinary technician specialists are truly qualified to provide a higher standard of care to patients. As of 2008, there were only 194 members worldwide. AVECCT was established in 1996 and was the first academy to be recognized by the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America. Technician Specialties also exists for Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, Dentistry and coming soon, Behavior.
